CNC Flame & Plasma Cutting Machine
01 / Machine description
Cut the entire steel plate into web and flange plate blanks required for H-beam, or process the plate according to CNC graphics. Multiple straight flame torches are suitable for repeating width slitting tasks, and CNC flame or plasma torches are used for contour cutting.
The gantry runs along the longitudinal guide rail, the cutting torch moves along the beam, and the two axes are linked to form a cutting path. Flame cutting uses preheating and oxidation reactions to separate carbon steel; plasma uses an electric arc to melt materials and discharge the molten metal. The two methods are selected according to material, thickness, cutting quality and subsequent assembly requirements.
How key structures function
Mast and bilateral drive
The drives on both sides drive the gantry to walk along the track. The straightness of the guide rail, the rack engagement and the synchronization state jointly affect the stability of long-distance cutting.
Torch and Height Adjustment
The flame cutting nozzle is selected according to the plate thickness and gas; the plasma arc voltage is increased to maintain the cutting distance. Cutting current, gas and consumables need to be matched as a process.
Slitting and CNC contours
The distance between straight cutting torches corresponds to the width of the lath, and the CNC cutting torch executes the contour program; when discharging, the cutting compensation, remaining material, and lath deformation are also considered.

Configuration and process connection
Scheme basis
- TW-PQC4000 reference configuration is 4 m gauge, 14 m rail length and double-sided drive.
- Huayuan 200 A plasma power supply; the combination of 2 sets of CNC cutting torches and 9 linear flame cutting torches is shown in the parameter table.
Project matching and boundaries
- The rail length, number and spacing of cutting torches are adjusted according to steel plate specifications, output and workshop length.
- Low-voltage electrical appliances can be configured by Chint or Siemens according to the project; the cutting platform and smoke extraction system must be individually checked for scope of supply.
- Upstream incoming materials
- Steel plate warehousing and loading; provide plate width, steel number, plate thickness combination and target strip size.
- Downstream processes
- After slag removal and checks of dimensions and cut-edge quality, move the blanks to assembly or integrated assembly, welding and straightening. Supply contour files for tapered webs.
Site interfaces and maintenance points
Site utilities and interfaces
Check the track foundation, lifting coverage, power supply and grounding, oxygen and gas, gas source required for plasma, smoke extraction and slag cleaning space. The air source pressure and flow rate are subject to the selected equipment file.
Maintenance focus
Monitor cutting-nozzle and electrode wear, gas-line seals, rail cleanliness and torch-height control each day. If cut-edge bevel or slag changes, check the process and consumables first.
Bring workpiece drawings, common specifications and production requirements to obtain corresponding configuration and layout suggestions.
